      You

      In my time of tenderness
      I find that I am
      left with less than you.

      In my time of loneliness
      I remember only this,
      I am not with you.

      In my time of emptiness
      I find myself with less
      of me and you.

And yes, my time of happiness,
      I remember having this;
      I remember you.

      You Hurt Me Too

      Ahh.... You....
      You hurt me too....
      Leave me standing here
with all of my fear of loosing you.

      You think it's only you
      that's ever known pain,
      you think that after you
      it'll never happen again.

      And you....
      You're hurting too....
I see it in your eyes,
you keep it in disguise, but I see through you.

      You think that if you
      hold it deep inside
no one can get at you
      where you run to hide.

      Yea.... You....
      You need love too....
You had it in your heart,
it took you all apart, but it stays with you.

      You're Just Learning

You say you've found you love someone,
and now you will not be returning.
You say now your pain is done.
Oh. But girl, you're just learning.

I have just seen the morning sun set.
Girl. You know that I am grieving.
You are all the love I'll get,
and now you tell me you are leaving.

The pain you've planted in my heart
      is not what I had planned for us to gather;
but it's been growing from the start,
and we hurt less alone than we do together.

So. You go ride out with your new man.
But. Remember. I'll always be here waiting.
Yea. You go find out what you can.
I hope that what you find you won't end up hating.

You say you've found you love someone,
and now you will not be returning.
You say now your pain is done.
Oh. But girl, you're just learning.

Thank you for keeping my thoughts alive.

An astute writer once advised all readers: "If you are reading and come upon a word which you do not know the meaning of, immediately, go to the dictionary and find out. Else you might well miss the single most important message in the book!"

I believe this advice could indeed apply to every aspect of our lives.
